Naming ceremonies have been around for centuries to celebrate the birth of a child and welcome them into the family and into the world. A Naming ceremony is typically a non-religious alternative to a Christening and is a lovely way to gather your family together and welcome your child.
It is not only for babies though; you might also welcome an older child or an adopted child not to mention a house, boat or even a family pet.
It is a wonderful opportunity to be able to acknowledge siblings, grandparents and friends who will no doubt also play a significant role in your child's life and the time to appoint Godparents, Lifeparents or other guardians.
You can read poems, share stories, offer blessings, exchange gifts and make promises as you formally give your child their name.
This is not a legal ceremony and there are no rules. Your options are endless and only limited by your imagination.
As your celebrant I will guide you through the different elements of your ceremony and create something personal for your child that you will cherish forever. We will sit down together, I will try to meet the person being named and I will go about putting together a unique ceremony that suits what you envisage. Once I have finished my draft of the ceremony I will go through it with you and we can edit it until you are completely happy.
Your child will receive a beautiful presentation Naming Certificate and a bound copy of their ceremony as a keep sake. Your child's Godparents will also receive a presentation certificate to commemorate the day.
This is a magical way to commemorate the life of your child! |

Perhaps their original wedding was not how they imagined it would be
-
Many couples choose to renew their vows to mark a significant wedding anniversary or just to acknowledge their love
-
And sometimes it is a suprise gift from loved ones such as their spouse or the children
Whatever the reason may be, your renewal of vows ceremony will be tailored to suit the personalities that you have grown as together and will be a unique occassion just as you want it |
